The project, led by Michael Andretti, had been in progress for years and passed the FIA’s initial scrutiny last year. However, after discussions with Formula One Management, F1 decided to reject Andretti’s bid due to doubts over its competitiveness and its benefit to the sport. Mario Andretti expressed disappointment on social media, and Andretti Cadillac asserts in their statement that they strongly disagree with F1’s decision.
